Deborah P. Rogers
Having experienced a wide
variety
of
professional
and
personal
interests
throughout
the
years
allows
for
a
broader
range
of
tools
that
we
can
use
in
our
therapeutic
work
together.
During
sessions,
we
might
find
that
you benefit from
drawing
or
writing,
in
addition
to
the
talking
we
do.
Or
we
might
incorporate
family
photographs
or
music.
There
are
many
paths
that
can
lead
you
to where
you
would
like
to
go!
I
enjoy
working
with
people
of
various
ages
and
from
a
variety
of cultural
backgrounds.
And
as
a
Licensed
Marriage
and
Family
Therapist
I
have
obtained
the years
of
education
and
experience
necessary
to
provide
these
quality
services
to those
in
our
community.
Therapeutic
Approach

. . . . . .
.
.
. . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . .
. .
Whether we are working with
adults or children in our sessions, we concentrate
on
developing
your
existing
strengths
as
we search
for
clues
to
the
things
that
are
blocking
your
way.
We
pace
with
your
needs
and
provide
a
relaxed
atmosphere, which
allows
you
the
opportunity
to
explore
new
solutions.
The
mind-body
connection
is
also
considered,
so
several
stress-reduction
techniques
might
be
provided
to
compliment
the
insights
and
solutions
we
develop.
Having
intense
emotional
experiences
are
something
we
all
go
through.
Some
are
intensely
happy,
while
others
are
intensely
difficult.
As far as
your
brain
is
concerned,
its
job
is
to
pay
special
attention
to
your
intensely
painful
experiences.
It's one
of
those
important survival
functions
that
it
needs
to perform
in
order
to
protect
us.
But
this
default
survival
mode
can
really
get
in
the
way
sometimes.
With
the
persistence
of
a
child
that
keeps
saying
"I
need
a
drink
of
water,
I
need
a
drink
of
water,
I
need a
drink
of
water...
our
brains
continue
to
repeat
the
message
of
what
we
need
until
the
message
is
actually
received
and
acknowledged.
So
at
times
we
might
incorporate the
technique
of providing
solutions,
reassurance
and
guidance
to
the
"protector"
parts
of
our
brain.
Then
the
message-loop
can
begin
to
relax
at
last.
If
either
you
or
your
child
has
had
therapy
in
the
past,
we
talk
about
the
ways
in
which
you
felt
the
experience
was
helpful,
or
not
so
helpful,
so
we
can
fine
tune
our
approach
to
your
current
work.
